Human support

Let’s get the story moving again.

Describe the behavior, not your private recording. Most ScreenLens issues can be diagnosed without seeing captured content.

Common questions

Quick answers.

Where are my recordings stored?

Recordings, projects, imported assets, and recovery revisions are stored locally in the Chrome profile using extension storage and IndexedDB. They are uploaded only if you deliberately start a Pro Turbo render and confirm the transfer.

How do I recover an interrupted recording?

Reopen the ScreenLens popup. If persisted chunks are available, a recovery banner appears. Choose Recover, then wait while ScreenLens assembles the locally saved footage.

Why does ScreenLens ask for microphone or camera access?

Those tracks are optional. When you enable one for the first time, ScreenLens opens a visible permission page so Chrome can show its standard media prompt. Turning the option off never requires permission.

Why does ScreenLens ask for API access?

Access to api.screenlens.hesham.us is optional and requested only when you connect Pro or enable product analytics. The complete local workflow continues without it.

Why is export speed different from output frame rate?

Output frame rate—30 or 60 fps—describes the finished video. The speed number during export is throughput: how many frames your device processes each second. A 60 fps output can therefore render at 10 frames per second without becoming a 10 fps video. Turbo moves the work to dedicated cloud compute and reports its measured throughput when complete.

What is the GIF 10 fps label?

GIF export is intentionally capped at 10 output frames per second to control file size and memory. MP4 and WebM support 30 or 60 output frames per second.

How do I cancel or update Pro?

Sign in on the Account page and choose Manage billing. Stripe’s secure portal handles payment methods, invoices, and cancellation.

How long are Turbo files kept?

Cloud inputs and finished outputs are scheduled for deletion after 24 hours. Download the result you want to keep; your local project remains unchanged.

How do I report a privacy or security issue?

Use the support email with “Privacy” or “Security” in the subject. Describe the issue without including captured content. Please allow a reasonable opportunity to investigate before public disclosure.
