Terms of use.

Last updated: August 29, 2026

These terms apply to the ScreenLens browser extension, website, accounts, and optional Pro services operated by Better Brain Lab LLC.

1. Using ScreenLens

You may use ScreenLens to record a browser tab you select, edit recordings, export files locally, and—if eligible—submit optional Pro cloud renders. You must be legally able to enter this agreement. If you use ScreenLens for an organization, you represent that you can bind that organization.

2. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

You may not use ScreenLens to break the law, invade privacy, distribute malware, abuse infrastructure, evade usage limits, probe other accounts, or misrepresent the origin or contents of a recording.

3. Local data

Free recording, editing, recovery, and export are device-local as described in the Privacy Policy. Browser failure, storage quotas, device failure, clearing extension data, or uninstalling may make local data unavailable. Recovery features reduce risk but are not a backup or archival guarantee.

4. ScreenLens Pro

Pro is an auto-renewing subscription billed by Stripe. The founding plan is $9 monthly or $79 yearly unless checkout shows a different price, currency, tax, or promotion before you confirm. The checkout screen is authoritative. Pro currently includes 120 cloud render minutes per billing period, jobs up to 20 minutes, and one concurrent render. A render minute is measured from source timeline duration, not processing wall time.

Unused included minutes do not roll over. ScreenLens may reject unsafe, unsupported, abusive, or over-limit jobs. Limits can change prospectively to protect reliability or reflect infrastructure costs; material reductions for active subscribers will be disclosed in advance when reasonably possible.

5. Billing, cancellation, and refunds

Subscriptions renew until cancelled. You authorize Stripe to charge the selected payment method at each renewal, including applicable taxes. You can cancel through the ScreenLens account billing portal; access continues through the end of the paid period unless law requires otherwise.

Except where required by law or stated at checkout, payments are non-refundable once a billing period begins. If a material service failure prevents reasonable use of paid rendering, contact support promptly so ScreenLens can investigate and, where appropriate, issue a credit or refund.

6. Cloud-render content and retention

You retain your rights in recordings and assets you create or upload. You grant Better Brain Lab LLC and its processors a limited license to host, process, transcode, and return that content solely to perform the cloud render you requested, secure the service, and provide support. Cloud inputs and outputs are scheduled for deletion after 24 hours; you are responsible for downloading and retaining the result you need.

7. Accounts and security

Keep your account and connected devices secure. Notify support if you suspect unauthorized use. ScreenLens may suspend access reasonably believed to be compromised, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful. You can revoke connected browsers from the account page.

8. Intellectual property and feedback

ScreenLens, its branding, website, and service software are owned by Better Brain Lab LLC or its licensors. These terms do not alter licenses attached to open-source components. You retain your rights in your own content. If you provide feedback, ScreenLens may use it without obligation to you, but will not treat a confidential recording as general feedback.

9. Availability and changes

ScreenLens may improve, replace, or discontinue features. Cloud rendering is a developing service and may experience queues, retries, format limitations, or downtime. The website and local editor are intentionally separated so a cloud-render outage need not prevent local work. No specific render-speed multiplier or uninterrupted availability is guaranteed.

10. Disclaimer and liability

ScreenLens is provided “as is” and “as available” to the extent permitted by law. Better Brain Lab LLC does not warrant compatibility with every website, browser build, codec, or device, or guarantee that every interrupted recording can be recovered.

To the extent permitted by law, Better Brain Lab LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost recordings, data, profits, revenue, or business interruption. Aggregate liability arising from paid ScreenLens services will not exceed the amount you paid for ScreenLens during the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not exclude rights or liabilities that cannot legally be limited.

11. Ending use and changes to terms

You may stop using ScreenLens at any time. ScreenLens may terminate or suspend access for a material violation, security risk, legal requirement, or non-payment. Provisions that logically survive termination—including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, and liability limits—will continue.

Material changes to these terms will be reflected by updating this page and, when required, giving additional notice. Continued use after an effective change constitutes acceptance, subject to non-waivable consumer rights.
